Jean Heitzman, MSW, LICSW

Jean has been working with children, teens, adults, families and seniors for the past 20 years.  She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.  She has advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) through BTech, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA, Trauma and Crisis Intervention through International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), Clinical Hypnosis with the University of Minnesota. She is also a Board approved supervisor. Jean has a client focused approach based in support, warmth and humor. She has a passion to support others.

Jean is able to accept IMCare, MHCP, MA, Medica, BCBS, Health Partners, Preferred One, UCare and Medicare insurances.

Jean enjoys the outdoors and spends time with family camping, boating and snowmobiling.


Kayla Meyer, MS, LPCC

Kayla Meyer, MS, LPCC has been providing therapy to children, teens and adults for over four years in Grand Rapids. She has experience in assisting people in managing depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, life transitions, and personality disorders. Kayla is seeing individuals 10 and up.


Mandi Shimek MA, LPCC

Mandi is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who provides individual services for ages 15 and older. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and her master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Having worked in the health and human services field for over ten years, her experience includes providing community-, home-, hospital- and clinic-based therapeutic services for individuals and groups aged in the following areas:

Mandi brings a unique type of energy to therapy. She pays close attention to patterns and listens to understand while taking a systemic and integrative approach that addresses people within the context of their relationships. Mandi believes that every person has within them the capacity to create beneficial, sustainable changes in their lives. She recognizes that therapeutic needs differ from person to person. Through collaboration, exploration, discussion and goal setting, Mandi works alongside of her clients to develop a blueprint for healing that will complement, both, the individual and their unique situation. Mandi is active in therapy and strives to balance listening with challenging. She highlights opportunities for growth while encouraging clients throughout their transformation using sincerity, compassion, intuition, optimism, and humor.


Marla Pogorelc, MSW, LICSW

Marla has been practicing psychotherapy for the past 3-4 years. She graduated with a Master’s degree in social work through St. Cloud State University in 2017. Marla enjoys working with individuals ages 12 and up. She uses a humanistic approach when working with individuals and believes that each person has the ability to create their own changes. Marla also utilizes cognitive and behavioral approaches. She is trained in EMDR through EMDRIA and is skilled in working with those who have had traumatic experiences.

Marla will see individuals experiencing any sort of mental health issue and especially enjoys seeing people who are struggling with the following: Trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance abuse, defiant behaviors, and personality disorders. Marla is able to accept IMCare, MHCP, MA, Medica, BCBS, Health Partners, Preferred One, UCare and Medicare insurances.

In her free time, Marla enjoys spending time outdoors, running, playing with her dogs, and listening to music.
